  5.     Placing a PC Pursuit Call

  8.       * Use a modem to dial your local Telenet access telephone
  9.         number with parameters settings of 7-E-1. You can switch
  10.         later to 8-N-1 after step 5 for file transfers (see ACCESS
  11.         File to obtain your access number).

  13.       * Type two CARRIAGE RETURNS (CR) (CR)

  19. (1)   Terminal =        D1 (CR)                    Input Terminal ID.
  20.                                                    D1 is typical for
  21.                                                    PC's. If not known,

  24. (2)   @                 C DIAL212/12,YOUR ID (CR)  Type area code desired,
  25.                                                    modem speed and your
  26.                                                    user ID. (Note that
  27.                                                    /3 = 300 bps, and /12 =
  28.                                                    1200 bps).

  30. (3)   PASSWORD =        PASSWORD (CR)              Enter user Password

  32. (4)   DIAL 212/12                                  Connected to target
  33.       CONNECTED                                    city outdial modem.

  35. (5)                     ATZ                        Type ATZ (in upper case)

  37. (6)   OK                                           Modem responds as cleared.

  39. (7)                     ATDT 7654321               Type ATDT (in upper case)

  43. (8)   CONNECT           (CR) (CR)                  You are now connected to
  44.                                                    the computer that you
  45.                                                    dialed. Procees as if
  46.                                                    the  number was dialed
  47.                                                    directly.

  50.     NOTES:
  51.     -----

  53.     1. If the connection was not made, a BUSY will be seen within 30
  54.        seconds. The BUSY message means that the number dialed was either
  55.        busy, not in service, or an invalid attempt to dial more than 7
  56.        digits. A BUSY will also be seen after disconnecting from the
  57.        host computer, but you can dial another number by starting again
  58.        at the fifth step and typing ATZ and dialing the number.

  60.     2. PC Pursuit uses standard HAYES dialing commands, which enable
  61.        you to type the A/ (no CR) command to redial the previously
  62.        dialed number.
  63.  
  64.     3. When a typing mistake is made in the second and third steps,
  65.        the log-on must be re-entered.

  68.     To Disconnect from PC Pursuit

  92.     1. To DISCONNECT FROM TELENET, log off your computer as usual, or
  93.        hang-up.

  97. Note: If previous user was using the outdial modems in the Racal-Vadic
  98. mode, you may recieve a MANUAL ANSWER prompt. If this occurs type <CR>, 
  99. Wait for the * prompt and then type i<CR>. The outdial modem will respond
  100. with an IDLE<CR>.

  102. After entering the password PC Pursuit may respond with one of many messages
  103. indicating a busy status. The message will always be followed by the @ prompt.
  104. Just retry the city connection sequence.
  105.  
  106. Spurious <CR>'s can cause the outdial modem to go into a BUSY/RING cycle. If this
  107. occurs, disconnect from the target city and re-initiate the procedure.
